Alpine winter sports paradise
With 96 slopes with a total length of 200 kilometres, ski vacationers in the skiing region Les Deux Alpes are spoilt for choice. Skiers of all levels find what they are looking for at altitudes between 1270 and 3600 meters.
The Western Alpine slope Le Pied Moutet that is pampered by sun in the mornings and whose at the most medium-hard passages reach up to 2.100 meters and lead down to the village Mont de Lans through the woods is adequate for beginners and advanced skiers. In spite of Alpine surroundings, beginners are able to explore the region on blue slopes, while the more secure skiers can go left and right, and get their kick on difficult slopes, fun mogul passages or exciting routes. More demanding slopes and Alpine challenges can be found on the second of the two slopes of the skiing region Les Deux Alpes, which reaches up to the Dôme de la Lauze at 3.568 meters. The special feature of the „Professional slope“: Due to the option of entering the skiing region of the Meije mountain range from the peak, this offers different ski tour options from light blue to dark black. Another highlight for passionate skiers is the legendary slope from the Dôme de la Lauze over the glacier all the way to the village La Grave at 1450 meters. The reason: Once oyu have left the glacier above you, you can either dare to go in extremely steep and narrow channels, or choose gentler slopes to get downhill. Ski vacationers rise high with the state of the art Jandri express that leads to the edge of the glacier to 3200 meters. Then you continue on with T bar lifts just under the peak of the 3669 meter high Pic de la Grave.
The skiing region Les Deux Alps has developed into a true Mecca also for snowboarders. Known for its gigantic Snowpark at an altitude of 2600 meters for years, that is said to be one of the best in France, snowboarders find what they need to please their freestyler hearts – beginner or professional. Next to Park bullies, there is a Pipe Magician, a Zaugg Pipe Shaper and a turbine available. Beyond that, slopes above Les Deux Alpes without trees offer enough room for beginners and freestyle specialists to enjoy.
The athletic offer of the skiing region Les Deux Alpes is supplemented by numerous extras like night skiing, a ski & boarder cross trail and 3 cross country tracks with a total length of 25 kilometres. 250 snow canon and more than 50 lifts ensure perfect winter pleasure. Waiting times at the lifts are rare, as the lift capacity by far exceeds the number of available accommodation in Les Deux Alpes.
Ski and relaxation vacation in one
Non-skiers or those who only rarely go are also able to enjoy vacations in Les Deux Alpes to the fullest, not lastly thanks to the picturesque Alpine landscape that promises pure rejuvenation.
