The name of the oldest skiing region of the Savoie Alps says it all. Named after Jean Claude Killy, the triple downhill Olympic winner of Grenoble in 1968, a skiing vacation in the skiing region Espace Killy is always a benefit. Espace Killy is officially described as „Le plus bel espace de ski du monde“, meaning „the most beautiful skiing area of the world“ encompasses three mountains and two valleys, and joins the two skiing regions Val d‘Isère and Tignes. The slope range for skiers is correspondingly generous, from beginner to professional levels. 156 slopes with a total of 300 kilometres of endless, wonderfully prepared slopes for every taste offer enough variety. Nearly 90 lifts transport ski vacationers through the skiing area quickly and conveniently.
Countless off-piste slopes, glacier slopes on the Grande Motte, slopes through the woods to Val d’Isere and into villages below Tignes entice true ski and snowboard aficionados to Espace Killy, along with numerous deep snow slopes or the world famous racing slopes at Rocher de Bellevarde in Val d´Isère – a defused version of the Olympic slope for men that is open to normal skiers. Sophisticated mogul slopes at the Solaise and the ski canyoning stretch into the Gorges de Malpasset round off the offer for professional skiers.
Thanks to mostly blue and red slopes, as well as numerous practice slopes with partially free ski lifts, the skiing region Espace Killy is also the ideal destination for beginners of all ages to gather first experiences on the slope. 821 snow canons gurantee snow from the end of November to May.

Two of the most distinct mountains of the Vanoise-Massive, Mont Pourri (3779 m) in the North and the Grande Motte (3656 m) in the South form the tips of a skiing region that blends into wide, gentle slopes towards the valley. Tignes as well as Val d´Isère belong to the first generation of French winter sports locations and are meanwhile both characterized by attractive architecture with much wood and stone. The charm of the Savoyian villages has stayed the most tangible in „Val Village“, the pedestrian area of Val d’Isère. A mighty entrance gate supported by four stone pillars invites you to the old centre of town. But not only past charm, also contemporary leisure activities are available thanks to numerous bars, discos, restaurants, pubs and even a casino. During the day, the modern Aqua Centre in Tignes-le-Lac, a water and wellness paradise provides relaxation after exerting ski days, and is a welcome change.
If you prefer long cross country tours to fast alpine slopes, you also are spoilt for choice in the skiing region Espace Killy. Nearly 70 kilometres of prepared trails are awaiting you in Tignes and Val d´Isère – among them also skating trails, dog trails and high altitude trails. The most beautiful skiing region of the world can also be discovered by means of winter hikes, snowshoeing or Nordic Walking. Sledders can enjoy themselves day and night at the Savonette-Lift.
Practice slopes for children, guest kindergartens, ski kindergarten and children skiing schools in Tignes and Val d’Isère make skiing vacations in the skiing region Espace Killy a real event not only for older ski fans but also for small ski vacationers that receive a free ski pass up to an age of 5 years.
