On the one hand, there is the skiing region of La Plagne on the other side of the mountain chain that is directly connected to Champagny, with a total of 225 piste kilometres, snow parks, boardercross courses, powder snow runs and much more. On the other hand, ski holidaymakers can also use the XXL piste area of Paradiski, composed of the skiing regions La Plagne and Les Arcs, which has on offer a total of 2 glaciers and 425 piste kilometres of all levels.

Around Champagny itself, there are various blue and red slopes, a snow park in the area of the Rossa Lifts with boardercross and powder snow courses below the Les Verdons peak. In addition, the young skiers are well catered for. For the little racers from 3 years old, the ski school offers special children’s courses on site. Moreover, even for the very small ones from 4 months old, there are professional care facilities so that the parents can use the skiing region together.

Recreational pleasure in a nature reserve area

For winter sports people, who do not (only) prefer the classical alpine sports, Champagny is a true Mecca. At 1,450 metres elevation and only about 5 kilometres from Champagny-en-Vanoise, the district of Champagny-le-Haut is situated in a former glacier valley.

In this tributary valley, which is marked as a nature reserve area and is seen as the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, holidaymakers find a real recreational paradise. And the Vallon de Champagny-le-Haut is one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas of the French Alps. 22 kilometres of cross-country ski runs are distributed over four courses for varying lengths and difficulties. The Nordic Parc, a zoned area with bumps and jumps, offers additionally the possibility to practise and to become a more experienced cross-country skier in an unusual way.

Additionally, the picturesque valley has a toboggan run, numerous snowshoe and winter hiking trails to offer, as well as several ice waterfalls and an ice tower for climbing. This unique construction in the centre of Vallon de Champagny-le-Haut is a proud 24 metres high and can be climbed via various routes - in the framework of a beginner’s course or on your own.

Those who are interested in the eternal ice are spot on in the glacier information centre in Champagny-le-Hau, which is located in a former rectory.

For those who would like a ski-free day or, after the lifts have closed, desire some relaxation, we have everything in Champagny. You can let yourself be spoilt in numerous spas, enjoy a relaxing film evening at the cinema, or end the day in the restaurants, bars and discos of Champagny.
