
Crossing borders is possible in the skiing region Espace San Bernardo not only when talking about ambitious slopes that require courageous skiers. Due to the merger of the Italian skiing station La Thuile in the Aoste valley and the French skiing village La Rosière San Bernardo, a borderless skiing region was created, offering 150 kilometres of slopes for all levels in two countries with one ski pass.
As one of the few skiing regions in the part of the Departement Savoy that is known as Haute-Tarentaise, the slopes of San Bernardo are famous for the their snow guarantee that enables a valley run at the end of the ski day at an average of 120 days per season, and provide best slope conditions at every altitude between 1.176 and 2.641 meters.
Next to the selection of Italian Dolce Vita and French Savoir Vivre in the huts in both parts of the skiing region, skiers in San Bernardo are spoilt for choice also on the slopes. After all, the 80 slopes around the Col du Petit St Bernard offer ideal downhill tracks for beginners and advanced skiers.

Beginners will find slopes in the French part on the wide areas of the station La Rosière. Ski professionals will find what they are looking for on Italian ground towards La Thuile, to be more exact in the region of Le Belvédère (2641m) as well as on the black slopes of Les Suches. Next to slopes with a gradient of up to 78 percent, the longest slope of the skiing region, the „7 San Bernardo“ with 11 kilometres promises true adventure. The 2-country-slope network is ideally connected with 37 lifts, two cable cars are also open to hikers. Ski vacationers in the region San Bernardo can enjoy the unique international landscape and the view to the Mont Blanc also without skies. Those looking for the real challenge will find it among the numerous heliskiing tours offers, providing exactly what deep snow fans really need.
A snowpark at the Roc Noir, just above La Rosière, a 2 km long snowcross sector and a halfpipe supplement the winter sports offer in San Bernardo for snowboarders. Cross-country skiers find a total of 30 kilometres of prepared trails throughout the region.
San Bernando is also an ideal skiing region for families thanks to its comprehensive offer for small skiers. The station La Rosière offers a practice area for children, a visitor’s kindergarten and a skiing school for the small ones. Children up to 8 years do not need a ski pass.
Guests in La Rosière can enjoy their vacation in cosy authentic wood chalets. Après-Ski-entertainment leaves no wish unanswered with numerous restaurants and cafés, a theatre, a cinema and a discothèque. Excursions with a dogsled, the snow scooter or on snow tubes offer tons of fun, next to snowshoe hiking or a unique helicopter tour to the Mont Blanc.
