Puy Saint Vincent - A Ski Resort on 3 Levels Puy Saint Vincent (1400 m)

logo

The original mountain village Puy Saint Vincent, whose roots date back to the 14th century, nowadays constitutes the lowest of the ski-region’s 3 levels. Situated at an altitude of 1400 meters, the valley station of Puy Saint Vincent is split up into 3 districts. The majority of shops and the 6-seater chairlift into the skiing region is located in Les Prés. The townhall, the postal station and the tourism centre are in Les Alberts. Whereas Le Puy as the oldest district in Puy Saint Vincent 1400 most notably has numerous historical buildings on offer. Including, for example, the public baking oven, which is still used today.

After Les Pres began its transformation into the modern ski-resort Puy Saint Vincent 1400 in 1968, the second and third levels followed in 1974 with heights of 1600 and 1800 meters. The middle station Puy Saint Vincent 1600 at the centre of the skiing region has developed since then. Ski-tourists can reach the entire skiing area from here and the majority of pistes end here. In the directly connected station Puy Saint Vincent 1800, however, there are mainly accommodations in the form of comfortable chalets and apartment buildings.

Sledging to Suit all Tastes

The leisure and après-ski facilities on all 3 levels are as varied as the ski-region Puy Vincent with its total of 75 kilometers of pistes. Those who fancy alternative types of winter sports can enjoy the two natural skating rinks or the local toboggan run in Puy Saint Vincent 1400 and 1600. For absolutely safe sledging fun, these are also fitted with air-filled protective pads.

Ski-tourists can experience a special kind of sledging ride on the so-called “Snake Gliss.” Here the participants can sledge downhill on toboggans hanging on to one another and which literally form a large sledging snake.

Guests in Puy Saint Vincent can choose from a snowmobile tour or a dog-sled trip, which are just as thrilling.

Those who prefer to explore the wonderful scenery around Puy Saint Vincent on two legs rather than on 2 blades, can find several exciting snow-shoe hiking trails in the direction of Vallon de Narreyroux and by the Plateau de la Pousterle.

Puy Saint Vincent also offers a lot of possibilities for the well deserved relaxation after a day on the snow. There are numerous cosy bars and restaurants in both stations at altitudes of 1400 and 1600 meters, which spoil their guests with regional-typical cuisine. A cinema is also available to ski-tourists in Puy Saint Vincent 1600 and in the Hôtel l'Aiglière in Puy Saint Vincent 1400 spa-fans can chill out in the sauna, in the hammam or in the jacuzzi.
