Paradise for ski beginners and professionals
As in all three valleys, skiing vacationers in Courchevel are right in the middle of the largest connected skiing region of the world, the Trois Vallées. Thanks to a total of 180 lifts, the 600 kilometres of slopes of the three valleys basically start on your doorstep and invite you to take long tours starting in Courchevel. But also the skiing region of Courchevel itself has enough slopes to offer for a diverse skiing week. The 92 slopes include some for every level. In direct vicinity of the three stations, beginners can choose from numerous simple slopes that mainly lead through a forest area and cannot be missed even if visibility is not quite perfect. In the higher altitudes experienced skiers will find what they are looking for on the slopes of Roc Merlet or Saulire with its steep channels Grand Couloir and Couloir de l’antenne.
Next to the large selection of easy slopes that provide ideal practicing areas for beginners, enough trainers are also available to beginners, as Courchevel holds the record of the largest skiing school of Europe with 500 instructors.
If you prefer to explore the unique Alpine panorama in the skiing region of Courchevel on cross-country skiers you are spoilt for choice among the different trails amounting to a total of 66.5 kilometres. Among them also a demanding 17-kilometre slope, and a 2.5 kilometre high altitude trail at 2.300 meters.
Young skiers have a children’s practice slope waiting for them in Courchevel 1850, a visitors kindergarten and a children skiing school.
Après-Ski – from cosy to mundane
The Après-ski options are just as versatile as the audience in the three village districts of Courchevel. The versatility and exclusivity of the gastronomic and touristic offers increases with altitude. Next to numerous gourmet restaurants, exclusive bars and discotheques that are open all night long, Courchevel 1850 also offers two exclusive shopping malls with different boutiques and various sports and fitness centres. A little less mundane, but nonetheless good, Courchevel 1650 and 1550 also have a number of Après-Ski-addresses to go to.
If you want to be active apart from skiing you will also find what you need in Courchevel. A total of 14 prepared trails invite you to go winter hiking or Nordic Walking and snowshoe hikes for several hours can also be booked. The courageous among you can try the toboggan run that leads from Courchevel 1850 down to Courchevel 1550 and is lit for night use until 7:30 pm.
All three village districts have similar looking apartments and chalets in which much emphasis was laid on the usage of natural wood and flair typical for the region. Many luxury hotels are located in Courchevel 1850, nearly all of them with direct slope access.
By the way: Courchevel offers the unique possibility to arrive by plane. The „Courchevel Altiport“ is connected to the airport of Geneva with three flights per day.
