Luchon - Base station of Superbagnères Luchon (630 m)

As a traditional spa resort, Luchon is best known for its partly modern, partly historic thermal baths, whose history dates back to the first century BC. Since 1912, however, Luchon is also a starting point for winter sports fans who were able to reach the snow-capped pistes above Luchon until 1966 and the Superbagnères altitude station with the specially built rack railway. After decommissioning the cable car, skiers first arrived by car at Superbagnères at 1,800 meters. Finally, since 1993, a gondola has been available for ski holidaymakers, which will take you directly from Luchon to the center of the Superbagnères ski area in just 8 minutes.

The total of 32 kilometers of the runway network are spread over 3 areas. The area Téchous, which is the target of families and freestylers with practice area, kid park, toboggan run, snow park and boardercross piste. As well as the ski resorts Lac and Céciré, which offer a diverse selection of blue to black pistes. In Lac there is also a 3-kilometer route at 1,855 meters altitude and the central meeting point of the entire ski area with gondola station, ski kindergarten (from 4 years), ski school and mountain restaurant.

After returning from the pistes to the Luchon valley station or on a day free of skis, the traditional spa resort at 630 meters provides the best relaxation one could wish for.

The thermal baths of Luchon consists of 3 buildings, all of which are supplied with the famous thermal water, which gushes with 22 to 67 degrees from 80 mountain springs. The healing power of water, due to its high sulfur content, has been used for over 2 millennia to treat rheumatic and respiratory ailments. To this day, spa guests benefit from the medical therapies that are spread over the Chambert and Prince Impérial spas and the VAPORARIUM.
