A Complete Programme for Young Ski-Tourists
Whilst the total of 15 pistes in the Val d’Allos-Le Seignus area are mainly made up of red and black slopes, easy and intermediate trails predominate in the piste-district of Val d’Allos-La Foux. In unison with the ski-resort Pra Loup, the small winter ski resort at an altitude of 1800 meters forms the ski-area Espace Lumière with a total of 180 kilometers of pistes.
The family skiing holiday becomes even more convenient thanks to the diverse range of service facilities and activities for young ski-tourists. Very young children are welcome in the daycare centre in Val d’Allos-La Foux once they can walk. The nursery is for young holiday guests from the age of 3. The 6-12 year olds gather in the children’s club. The young skiers from the age of 4 are best placed in the children’s skiing-school. Furthermore prams or babycarriers can be rented on site, so that you can save transporting your own bulky equipment.
In terms of skipasses, families can be pleased with a special offer. Children below the age of 5 receive a free liftpass and for families of 4 or more there are cheaper family-passes. On top of this parents can go for a combo-offer, which includes skipasses, ski lessons and child care.
Even the range of leisure facilities in Val d’Allos-La Foux is completely geared up for small ski-tourists. Throughout the whole season there are special events for families on the programme of events like, for example, the snow-shoe hikes for children. In addition to this Val d’Allos has an outdoor play area, a sled run and a so-called Ludotheque on offer. In this indoor play centre, all kinds of games can be borrowed or used on site like a sort of library. These and most of the other facilities for families and children are conveniently located in the centre of Val d’Allos-La Foux in Maison de la Foux.
2 snowparks await snowboarders in the piste area of Val d’Allos-La Foux. The South-Park by the Aiguille Lift has several rails, boxes, tables and whoops plus a slopestyle area. The Rider Park in the Roche aux Fees slope area is equipped with moguls and jumps. You can reach the boardercross trail above Val d’Allos La Foux with the Vescal Lift. A third funpark and 5 further boardercross trails are located in the Pra Loup ski-area.
The majority of the 25 kilometers of cross country trails in the ski area Espace Lumière are located in the area in the Val d’Allos-village. The trails here even partly run along the river Verdon.
A Spin on the Ice
Those who desire a little bit of variety in terms of wintersports, can look forward to a special highlight in Val d’Allos-La Foux. The brave can venture on the ice on 4 wheels – either in a small motorised buggy or with the help of a driving instructor in a real car. Those who prefer to do laps at a slow pace, can’t go wrong with the ice rink in the town centre. Speed-lovers can really accelerate on the snow on a snowmobile drive.
A trip to the spa in the Hôtel du Hameau with its sauna, hammam and range of spa facilities or an evening in the cinema is the perfect way to relax a little and to enjoy yourself after a day on the snow.
Several cosy restaurants and bars then invite you to round off your day in good company -not without enjoying the typical Savoyard specialities of course.
