From the practice area to the World Cup runs
There are 2 special practice areas for beginners, in the valley area in “Le Tourchet” or at the Prarion cable car end station.
Les Houches has particularly exciting facilities for professionals and boarders. There are 10 kilometres of marked trails in the “Chavants” area for cross-country skiers. Ski racers will definitely not want to miss the highlight of the legendary World Cup ski run, “La Verte des Houches”. Freestylers will also love what’s on offer in the Bellevue air park.
There’s also a good area for cross-country skiers, the “Domaine nordique/ski de fond du plateau du Prarion”, which offers 10 kilometres of top-quality high-altitude trails at the Prarion cable car end station.
For the next generation of skiers there is a crèche in the ski nursery in Les Houches for children from 3 months to 3 years or a Kids Club “Les Chavants” for children from 18 months to 10 years.
If you are looking for more than the Les Houches ski resort has to offer then it is easy to reach Chamonix, only 6 kilometres away, and access the ski resorts of Aiguille du Midi and Le Brévent/La Flègere, with 20 and 29 kilometres of runs respectively.
Using the Mont Blanc ski pass guests at Les Houches can also access 14 additional skiing areas.
There’s also plenty of action in Les Houches off the slopes. The range of winter sports activities on offer covers snow-shoe hiking, tobogganing, ice-skating and skijoring, as well as an adventure park and a climbing wall. For something a bit more relaxed, try a trip to one of the many goat farms in the area or have a wellness afternoon in the resort’s own spa.
