Just one lift away from ski heaven

A lift from La Chal in St. Jean d'Arves takes you direct to the vast ski area of Les Sybelles where winter sport lovers of all abilities can enjoy 310 kilometres of slopes, 1 snowparks and breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps. St. Jean d'Arves’ own skiing area, which is served by 22 lifts, is the ideal place for beginners wanting to practise in a small area away from the main slopes. For those skiers not wishing to explore the whole of the Sybelles area, the 90 kilometres of pistes between St. Jean d'Arves and Le Corbier offer a good compromise. There are also 13 kilometres of well-groomed cross-country trails here.

Despite the compact size of its ski area, St. Jean d'Arves has plenty of off-piste action on offer. Choose from dog-sledding, snowmobile rides, snowshoe or night hikes, ice-climbing tours and paragliding flights. A great day out for families on holiday in this area is a trip to see one of the local cheese-dairies or maybe a visit to a donkey farm – possibly with a ride thrown in...!
