Experienced alpinists on the contrary find their favourite slopes on the steep slope of the Roc de Fer or in the Mont-Vallon region that offers two attractive long red slopes that lead all the way to the valley. Deep snow fans will also find what they are looking for here, on beautiful slopes through the woods also above Les Allues and Méribel-Centre. The mountain station of Mont du Vallon that is visible towards the South already from Méribel not only offers a fascinating view of a nature reserve, the Gerboulaz-glacier and the surrounding mountain peaks. Several attractive slopes start at the highest lift of the region – among them also the connecting slopes to Val Thorens. Ski vacationers also reach the stations of the neighbouring valleys over the slopes of Tougnette, from Mont de la Chambre or La Saulire and so quickly reach the largest skiing region of the world with a total of 600 slope kilometres.
If you prefer to ski on sunny slopes, you will find what you are looking for before noon in the region Tougnette/Mont de la Challe and can travel to the region Burgin/Saulire and Mont-Vallon in the afternoon to catch the sun.
Snowboarders and cross-country fans cannot complain about lacking variety in the skiing region of Méribel. Small skiers are also well taken care of. Starting from children’s day-care and a visitors kindergarten for small winter vacationers 3 months and up, the skiing region Méribel has numerous children’s skiing schools that offer skiing courses for 4- 18 year olds for skies, snowboard, freestyle, cross country and snow shoeing. In the meantime, parents can enjoy their own ski tours, because the skiing region Méribel has a specially developed system that protects the small skiers from slipping on the chair lift with help of a magnet.
Wellness and star watching in the mountains
The international reputation and the great popularity of Méribel is however not only due to its large and versatile winter sports offer. Also apart from the slopes and trails, vacationers will find what they came for in the skiing region Méribel.
Without a doubt, one of the special features of the leisure and Après-Ski-Portfolio is the direct cableway connection with the spa town Brides les Bains that invites you to spend a relaxing or entertaining time with a thermal bath and a gaming casino.
Even on days off from the ski slopes, you will not be bored. The range of sports activities reaches from fitness, swimming, golfing, ice-skating, tennis, squash or winter hiking all the way to bowling, snow scooter or go-kart on the ice.
If you prefer a little less action, you can use the unique opportunity to marvel at the planets at 2.200 meters height in the observatory, or let yourself be pampered in one of the approximately 85 restaurants, even with Moroccan or Japanese cuisine. After that, numerous clubs, pubs, or discos are available to go out in style.
Shopping-fans will also be satisfied in the skiing region Méribel. Next to numerous stores in the centre of Méribel, a regular market along the main street invites you to pass time and purchase local products and specialities of the region.
If you want to visit the different districts Méribel-Centre, Méribel-Village and Méribel-Mottaret you can use the convenient so-called Méribus that connects the stations with each other.
