With a gondola in the 4 Vallées
Skiers and families in particular appreciate the wide and gently sloping pistes above La Tzoumaz, ideal for practicing the turns. But even more experienced skiers will get their money's worth and can look forward, for example, over a 7-kilometer downhill run from the ridge Savoleyres in 2354 meters height down to the station. For deep-snow fans there is also an exciting freeride downhill run that leads from Attelas at an altitude of 2727 meters through the undeveloped Vallon d'Arbi to La Tzoumaz, overcoming more than 1200 vertical meters.
With only a gondola ride on the Savoleyres ridge, it finally goes from La Tzoumaz directly into the ski area of Verbier and from there to the entire ski area 4 Vallées. The XXL ski area, which includes La Tzoumaz and Verbier, as well as the Nendaz, Siviez and Veysonnaz stations, offers over 100 pistes for skiers of all levels, 3 snow parks, 2 halfpipes, 6 toboggan runs and 32 cross-country routes.
Tobogganing paradise in the Valais Alps
Especially for tobogganists La Tzoumaz is the most popular destination in the ski area 4 Vallées. The reason: Here ends the longest toboggan run in Valais Switzerland with a total length of 10 kilometers. For the start of the XXL-toboggan run, skiers can also take the cable car from La Tzoumaz to the Savoleyres ridge, then sled back over 848 meters to the station.
If you prefer to relax and enjoy the wintry Valais mountain landscape with its lush larch forests, you can go on a discovery tour on a total of 3 snowshoe routes. The route "Bisse de Saxon" leads along the Saxon-Suone, one of the many preserved historic water pipes of the Valais. The easy path through forests and clearings allows again and again free views of La Tzoumaz and the village of Isérables. A little more sporty is the tour "Forêt des Etablons", through the forest, where sometimes even wild animals can be observed. The third stretch "La Tzoumaz - Savoleyres" finally leads to the highest point of the ski area, which rewards snowshoe hikers with a breathtaking view of the Rhone Valley.
Incidentally, ski holidaymakers can also find out about the highlights of the Valais flora and fauna in the "Maison de la Forêt", a permanent exhibition on regional wildlife with a temporary presentation on the subject of forest. Passing by the Waldhaus, there is also the "Sentier des Sens", the path of the senses. At 2.7 kilometers and at 12 stations you can experience the nature of the Valais mountains with all five senses.
For wellness fans, La Tzoumaz has an indoor pool with sauna and a modern spa. Young skiers can enjoy fun and variety in the ski kindergarten or on the local natural ice rink.
