Ski holidays in a unique landscape
Two of the most distinct mountains of the Vanoise-Massive, Mont Pourri (3779 m) in the North and the Grande Motte (3656 m) in the South form the tips of a skiing region that blends into wide, gentle slopes towards the valley. Tignes as well as Val d´Isère belong to the first generation of French winter sports locations and are meanwhile both characterized by attractive architecture with much wood and stone. The charm of the Savoyian villages has stayed the most tangible in „Val Village“, the pedestrian area of Val d’Isère. A mighty entrance gate supported by four stone pillars invites you to the old centre of town. But not only past charm, also contemporary leisure activities are available thanks to numerous bars, discos, restaurants, pubs and even a casino. During the day, the modern Aqua Centre in Tignes-le-Lac, a water and wellness paradise provides relaxation after exerting ski days, and is a welcome change.
