Pyrénées 2000 - The game and sports location Pyrénées 2000 (1777 m)

logo

Quaint wooden chalets, surrounded by large trees, and comfortable apartment blocks characterize the image of Pyrénées 2000. The cozy ski location, which is also often called Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000 thanks to its neighboring village, together with the winter sports resort of Font-Romeu, forms the ski resort of the same name. The original village of Bolquère and the Superbolquère and Pyrénées 2000 locations, which were built in the 1970s, stretch between 1600 and 1800 meters and merge directly into one another. While in the Pyrénées 2000 the lifts start, the pistes end and skiers find all the central facilities, modern and inviting accommodations were realized in Superbolquères.

Thanks to this combination, guests in Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000 can now enjoy the authentic charm of a historic mountain village and the comfort of a modern winter sports center. And all in the middle of one of the most beautiful landscapes in France, the Pyrénées Catalanes Regional Nature Park. Despite its secluded location, Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000 is well known off the beaten piste. On the one hand, the former village lies directly on the well-known long-distance hiking trail GR 10, which crosses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. On the other hand, Bolquère is home to France's highest railway station, where the famous narrow gauge train "Le petit train jaune" stops, from the fortified town of Villefranche-de-Conflent to the international train station of Latour de Carol.

Further information

Snow-covered downhill run throughout the season

Thanks to the altitude of the Font-Romeu ski area between 1600 and 2200 meters as well as the targeted use of around 500 snow cannons, ski holidaymakers can look forward to snow-sure pistes during the entire season. The various downhill runs to Pyrénées 2000 are therefore available until the end of March and are suitable for winter sports fans of all levels, from beginners to professionals. 2 ski lifts lead from the station to the pistes directly above Pyrénées 2000. The Belvédère chairlift takes you from the valley station right into the ski area to the Col del Pam at 2000 meters altitude.

From here, winter sports fans reach the Gallinera high-altitude station, where some challenging black runs start. There are also several green routes from here to the central altitude station of the whole ski area Les Airelles at 1964 meters. Here you will find all ski schools, ski kindergarten and a huge practice area. Last stop is then the summit of the ski area, the Roc de la Calme, on whose pistes numerous blue to black pistes are available and also a snow park.

The ski area's main attraction is the two cross-country ski areas on the Plateau de la Calme and in the Vallée de la Têt, not far from Pyrénées 2000. Together, Nordic athletes have access to 111 km of routes up to 2213 meters, making Font-Romeu the home of the largest and highest cross-country skiing area in the Pyrenees.

Many recreational activities

Even though the Font-Romeu ski resort itself is not one of the largest areas in France, ski holidaymakers in Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000 benefit from an enormous selection of recreational opportunities off the pistes.

The two large sports and leisure centers "L'Elan" and "Termanal des Loisirs" offer all imaginable indoor activities. In the "Termanal des Loisirs" sports fans can choose between tennis, badminton, squash, indoor football, basketball, strength training, table tennis and street hockey on 2500 m². The "L'Elan" is more about playful pleasure. There are 10 bowling alleys and an arcade with pool tables, table kickers, simulators and a giant screen.

Those who prefer to be active in the fresh air also have plenty of choice in Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000. In addition to snowshoe hikes and dog sled rides, for example, snow tours are offered with the Quadbike, a kind of bicycle with 4 wheels. Adventurous people can - accompanied by experienced guides - go on such a tour even after sunset, or opt for the fast-paced downhill variant.

Rides on horses or donkeys are also offered in the vicinity of Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000, as well as helicopter and paragliding flights. Wellness fans will find in many spas of the region large spa facilities, which offer away from the spa also pure wellness treatments.

Extra tip: Exactly between Pyrénées 2000 and Superbolquères you will find the animal park "Territoire Lapon". In addition to reindeer from Lapland, goats, rabbits and sheep have found a home here. As a special highlight, ski holidaymakers can also book a ride on the reindeer sledge here.
