Freeride mecca and family ski area
The good snow conditions in the 4 Vallées from the beginning of December to the end of April can benefit beginners as well as advanced skiers who can also choose from 3 different pistes. The smallest part of the ski area Savoleyres / La Tzoumaz includes the local lifts of Verbier and all lifts across to La Tzoumaz, and is the ideal area for beginners and families.
With the ski pass Verbier, ski holidaymakers can additionally use the area between the valley station and the Mont-Gelé summit (3,023 m). The range of runs ranges from the practice pistes in the middle of Verbier and La Chaux beginners' area to the demanding runs below the Mont-Gelé. In total, winter athletes have around 200 km of pistes of all levels at their disposal. Not to mention the numerous powder-snow runs and heliski opportunities for which the Verbier ski resort enjoys an international reputation.
If you still want more variety, the whole of the 4 Vallées with their more than 400 kilometers of pistes are finally open to you. The largest contiguous ski area in Switzerland, which includes the Verbier and La Tzoumaz stations Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon / Les Collons and Siviez, guaranteed no winter sports wishes.
Around 10 freeride routes, 3 snow parks, 2 halfpipes and generous practice area for beginners in all stations offer the right thing for every ski holidaymaker. Directly above Verbier, by the way, freestylers can enjoy themselves in the Snowpark of La Chaux, which is equipped with boxes and rails on different lines.
Cross-country skiers will find around Verbier 22 km of mostly light-level pistes. Among them is the 6 kilometer circular route at La Chaux at an altitude of 2200 meters, which offers a unique view of the surrounding mountain panorama.
Winter activities for all ages
Numerous sports activities in the snow are well-taken care of in Verbien and off the pistes. Youngest holidaymakers from the age of 3 months are welcome at the resort's own day nursery, while the Kids Club for small skiers from 3 years old is even equipped with a private practice piste.
Ideal leisure activities for the whole family are also numerous. Starting with several winter hiking routes on various snowshoe tours to sledding in different variants. In addition to the fun park of Les Esserts near Verbier, where you can sledge on pneumatic tires, so-called snowtubes, sledging fans can also enjoy the longest toboggan run in the French-speaking Switzerland. From the Savoleyres ridge at 2354 meters, this special route leads over 10 kilometers and 848 vertical meters down to La Tzoumaz. Returning to Verbier, tobogganing is easy with 2 gondola rides.
An unforgettable experience for big and small skiers is also a dog sled ride, where you can admire the view of the unique mountain panorama between Les Ruinettes and La Chaux.
For the brave ones, there are 2 extraordinary and above all icy activities to choose from. Anyone who dares can either venture on a large ice surface with karts and prove their driving skills under these special conditions. Or try ice climbing. In and around Verbier there are various natural or artificial ice cascades available for beginners as well as professionals to try their luck, always accompanied by an experienced mountain guide.
Verbier's leisure activities are rounded off by several indoor activities in the village's own sports center. In addition to an indoor ice skating rink, there are also some squash courts as well as a spacious bathing and wellness area with swimming pool, children's pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and solarium.
